Divers and Medical Professionals Combine Work and
Passion for Scuba Diving Through Fiji Project
TO: Medical, Dental, Optometric and Pharmacy Professionals, Health Editors, Human Resource Managers, compassionate divers.
Most people think of Fiji as an island paradise, but there are many children in remote villages who are in tremendous need of medical and dental care. Mark Fischer, owner of Keizer’s Hydrosports Dive and Travel, is putting together a team of “underwater ambassadors” and medical professionals to help those children on the land near some of his group’s most cherished dive locations.
Attend an informational meeting Wednesday, January 12 at 6 or 7:30 PM in the Salem Hospital Building B Auditorium to learn how you can combine your profession, passion and also receive tax benefits as a result of participating in a Medical Mission to Fiji.
Join 2010 Mission participants Dr. Sean Hanson and Dr. Mike Litchfield and 2011 Mission organizer Mark Fischer. Hear from Drs. Hanson and Litchfield about their experiences at Koro Village in 2010. Mark Fischer will discuss the goals for the 2011 Mission to Matava. To RSVP or for additional information please email hydrosports@gmail.com .
DIVE Northwest, a 501 (c)3 non-profit, and HydroSports Dive and Travel located in Keizer, Oregon, are spearheading an effort to bring doctors, dentists, optometrists, nurses and support staff to Kadavu, Fiji, May 5 to 14, 2011. The 150+ children attending school in Koro Village have limited access to routine or preventative medical, dental or vision care. The Mission's goal is to hold a five day clinic to provide multi-disciplinary care to students, families and faculty of the school and village.
To join our interest list please contact Mark Fischer at 503-304-5383 or hydrosports@gmail.com.
